2016-17 SL Benfica Adidas Home Football Shirt Fly Emirates

SL Benfica 2016-17 home jersey by Adidas. This kit features the club's traditional red base with white accents on the V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs. A defining design element of this season is the placement of the three white Adidas stripes on the sides of the torso rather than the shoulders. The interior neck tape includes the Portuguese text 'SOU DO BENFICA' ('I am from Benfica'), a reference to the club's anthem. The 'Fly Emirates' sponsor logo is heat-pressed on the chest, though it shows some wear/cracking in the image. The fabric is a ventilated polyester designed for athletic performance.The 2016-17 season was a highly successful one for SL Benfica, managed by Rui Vitória. The club secured a domestic 'Double' by winning the Primeira Liga title for a record 36th time (their fourth consecutive title, known as the 'Tetra') and the Taça de Portugal. They also reached the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League that year. This specific kit design is remembered as the first to move the iconic Adidas stripes from the shoulders to the flanks of the shirt.
