1997/1998 Germany Adidas Home Football Shirt

This is a vintage Germany '2006 World Cup Bid' promotional jersey. It features a white jacquard-textured fabric with a subtle repeating geometric pattern. The design includes a henley-style collar and sleeve cuffs trimmed with the German national colors (black, red, and gold). The front displays a central Adidas wordmark, the official DFB (Deutscher Fußball-Bund) crest with three stars on the left chest, and the 'Fußball-WM 2006 Deutschland' bid logo on the right chest. A unique 'Deutscher Fußball-Bund' woven patch is featured on the lower front hem.This garment was part of the promotional apparel for the 'Bewerbung' (bid) of the German Football Association (DFB) to host the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The campaign, which began in the mid-1990s and concluded with a victory in July 2000, was led by Franz Beckenbauer. The logo featuring a flying football with colored streaks was the official mark of the bid, intended to symbolize Germany's enthusiasm for the 'beautiful game' and its readiness to host the world.
